Mt. Merino
This challenging site is located on a steep slope and was heavily disturbed by the house's construction. The design direction was to create a natural meadow-inspired planting that also functioned as erosion control and water runoff control.
All the perennials were planted using landscape plugs which allowed us to cover a large amount of space in a cost effective way. In total 7000 perennial landscape plugs were used for this project. Because of the small size of the landscape plugs, the plants take a few years to unfold to their mature size. This portfolio showcases the possibilities of a naturalistic planting with landscape plugs and also shows the difference between how the area looks upon planting vs. a few seasons later.
